SL LIVING EXPO 2024 BEGINS..

 

That time of year has come for all of us to kick off the new start of Relay For Life in Second Life.

This is something that is near and dear to my heart, as I myself have had many in my family in real life who have battled with cancer. Some of them winning their battles and going on to live normal lives; some of them winning their battles, only to later get it again and pass away fighting once more. Some who have lost their battles, or are even now currently battling them. My rl father, a US Navy Veteran is battling with lung cancer which has also spread to his liver. So as you can see, this is a very very personal thing for me. It's something that I fight avidly for, and take great passion into. With that said...

It has been my honor for the second year in a row to blog for this event. It is also my honor to have my husband feature a car in the car show this year. I am very proud of him for working so hard, and putting together his car for the year. So for my first blog not only am I going to give you information on the event, but showcase his car because I'm so proud of him. I'm so proud how it is in honor and in memory of three amazing ladies who served in the Second Life Coast Guard. Sadly these ladies battled with cancer, and lost their battles. It was not to being weak, nor was it from being not strong enough. These women were courageous warriors who fought their hardest to beat cancer, but in the end cancer was just that much stronger. It took them from this great plain we call earth, and took them into the great seas of heaven.

 Commandant Admiral Allian Blackwell had won her battle against breast cancer, but alas on 7 May, 2023 her watch ended.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Angi Darkfire ended her watch on 10 October, 2023; Master Chief Petty Officer Niyrr Wild ended hers on 27 November, 2023.

Though I don't know the story behind these amazing ladies, I know they too fought with great Courage, Honor, and Dignity. Their watch too, was cut far too short; but we know they are sailing the great seas above, watching over all the current Coasties and future Coasties of SL, and keeping their eyes on everyone as they would have here with  all of us...

Petty Officer 1st Class Kyle Forrester's booth at a glance... The sun rising on the waters of the ocean signify the waves and waters on which the Coast Guard would sail watching out for danger, or those out there seeking help. The sun rising each day to light our way, and to lead the way much as these ladies lead in memory and in spirit. Leading future members of the Coast Guard with their legacy..

This booth is in honor of, memory of, and dedicated to Commandant Admiral Allian Blackwell, Petty Officer 2nd Class Angi Darkfire, and Master Chief Petty Officer Niyrr Wild.

Rest In Peace Ladies. You fought hard. You fought with honor, courage and beauty. Your memory shall live on with us all for the duration of our time here on this plane, on these seas. We pray that through the ones that come after us, that your legacy will continue on farther then just us, and through generations they will know your names, know your stories, and know the amazement that was the three of you. Rest easy, and rest in paradise
